汉地和藏地都有关于本命年的说法。在藏传佛教中，“嘎得”（音译）意为障碍，许多藏族人相信本命年会遇到阻碍。因此，他们通常会请信任的上师占卜加持、请求寺院诵经祈福，并通过行善积德来化解。在道教中，这种情况被称为犯太岁或伤太岁，而藏传佛教则称之为“命障”，即生命中的障碍。 人的生命周期与四季的更替类似。本命年如同生命力的“冬季”，是最脆弱的时刻，因此常感不顺。这便是“命障”，生命力受到阻碍的表现。正如人体虚弱的时候，要补充营养。而当生命力脆弱的时候，也就是命障或犯太岁的时候，最好的方式就是通过上供下施积德行善、累积福报，请上师三宝在寺庙中帮助我们供僧、供灯、祈福等，这就像请医生帮助自己调理身体，是一样的道理。同时，我们自己多多放生、念经等。

In Chinese and Tibetan traditions, the birth zodiac year carries special significance. In Tibetan culture, it’s believed that obstacles often arise during this year. Many Tibetans seek guidance and blessings from trusted masters, request prayers at temples, and engage in good deeds to counter these challenges. This is similar to the Chinese concept of “violating Tai Sui.” In Tibetan Buddhism, it’s referred to as a “life barrier” or an obstacle to life. The human life cycle is compared to the seasons, and the birth zodiac year is seen as a time of vulnerability, akin to the final winter of the year. During this period, vitality is weakest, leading to troubles and challenges.
